Blenheim Orange Apple Tree

The Blenheim Orange produces a large, flushed cooking/dessert apple, with a nutty flavour. A vigorous, mildew resistant, upright-spreading tree, slightly susceptible to scab. An erratic cropper, with fruit to be picked late September to early October and to be used October to December.

The Blenheim Orange was found at Woodstock, near Blenheim, Oxfordshire in about 1740. A tailor named George Kempster planted the original kernel and the apple began to be catalogued in about 1818.
